Austin, TX – Cody Miles announces the release of his latest album “10”, set to debut on January 1, 2024, on all major streaming platforms. The 10 track album includes one bonus song and explores themes of faith, self-discovery, family, and legacy.
The album opens with “Off-key”, an invitation to understand the discord between the heart’s desires and reality. “You Don’t Know” follows, a thoughtful piece on finding peace amidst uncertainty, especially resonant in the post-COVID era of faith reconstruction.
“Carpe Diem” shifts the tempo, encouraging living in the small moments that matter, while “Burning Bushes” speaks to personal growth and working on yourself in privacy. “Typical Crisis” cleverly juxtaposes an upbeat rhythm with themes of existential struggle and identity search.
In “Lesson X”, Miles delves into the cyclical nature of mistakes and the liberation found in confession and transparency. “1,000 Deaths” confronts internal rage and the journey towards becoming a better person. The album’s only political piece, “Taxation is Theft”, metaphorically critiques power dynamics.
The deeply personal “Unnamed” is a tribute to Miles’ daughter and wife, exploring the unexpected joys and commitments of family life. “10 Miles” is a special dedication to his wife, marking their decade-long journey together, celebrating their shared legacy and commitment.
The album concludes with “Daily Bread”, a contemplative piece about the dual pursuit of financial stability and spiritual growth, encapsulating Miles’ reflections on legacy, faith, and the human experience.
10 was largely created in collaboration with ijesselee and produKt of concept7. Of the 11 songs, 9 include either one or both. It was engineered by Marcos “Mista Min” Deida in Munich, Germany, and mastered by David Gonzalez in Austin, TX. The album features production from TellingBeatzzz, Mantra and others.
“I’d like to thank my friends for exploring this space with me,” says Cody. “As the first line on the first song says — I love my friends; come meet me at the bottom.”
In conjunction with the album’s release, Miles has re-released his website, codymiles512.com, featuring an exclusive store where fans can support the project through unique merchandise, including a t-shirt and a “Typical Crisis” journal. Supporters can also get early access to the album before its release on all streaming platforms by purchasing the album through the website.
“10” is not just an album; it’s an experiential odyssey that invites listeners into the heart of an artist grappling with the universal themes of life, faith, and human connection.
